Membership Details:- Adult $25.00 Pensioners $20.00 Juniors $10.00 Workshop fees: $3.00 per session and cutting fees for the larger saws apply. Workshop Nights:- The Club room is situated at the Yeppoon Showgrounds, Park Street, Yeppoon in the Gus Moore Pavillion. Visitors to our club are most welcome to attend our sessions. Club opening hours are on Saturday mornings 9.00am-12.00noon. Other weekdays open by arrangement. About:- Yeppoon & District Lapidary Club was formed 1975 to promote the hobby of collecting rocks & minerals and the cutting of cabochons and free forms and in addition to this conduct field trips during the winter months for club members and visitors. Our workshop has today all the machinery necessary for these activities, such as many different grinding machines, polishing laps, vibrating lap, saws, faceting machines, oven for enamelling and of course silver tools for our members use. Field trips are conducted during the winter months according to participation interest and availability of places to fossick. Gem Show & Events:- Yeppoon & District Lapidary Ass. Inc. Will host the CQ Gem Show this year at The Town Hall, Normanby Street, Yeppoon on the 18th & 19th of August 2007. The Show opens at 9am - 5.30pm on the Saturday and on Sunday 9am - 2pm. A field trip will be announced later. Tailgaters are welcome to participate. Lots of traders have been invited to display their goods. This years show should be even better than before if this is possible but, we invite you all to see for yourself. Come and meet old friends and chat about your favorite hobby. Saturday evening meal will be provided and light refreshments during both days. |
